Basketball Game Preview: Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks vs. Horse Creek Academy Stallions

The Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Horse Creek Academy Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Blackville-Hilda was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 83-79 to Hunter-Kinard-Tyler. The Fighting Hawks have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Horse Creek Academy fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Ridge Spring-Monetta on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Trojans 68-63. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Blackville-Hilda will need to focus on slowing down Aidan Walls, one of several Horse Creek Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Patrick, who earned 14 points.

Blackville-Hilda's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Horse Creek Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Blackville-Hilda came up short against Horse Creek Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 52-45. Can Blackville-Hilda avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
