Preview: Calvert Cavaliers vs. Ocracoke Dolphins
The Calvert Cavaliers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Ocracoke Dolphins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Calvert has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Ocracoke will arrive with three straight wins.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-25, which was the final score in Calvert's tilt against McDonough on Wednesday. Calvert was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.
Meanwhile, even though Perquimans scored an imposing 56 points last Friday, Ocracoke still came out on top. Ocracoke took down Perquimans 74-56.
Calvert's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Ocracoke, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
