Basketball Recap: Santa Maria's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Santa Maria's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 32-23 win over the Ben Bolt Badgers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Santa Maria's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Ben Bolt, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Kaufer the next time they take the court. Santa Maria will head out to face Kaufer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Ben Bolt will host them at 5:00 p.m. on January 10th.
