Baseball Recap: Fremont's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fremont came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Farmington Phoenix with a sharp 12-5 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 4-0 victory last Wednesday.

Cole Sanders and Kasen Pearson did most of the damage at the plate: Sanders scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Pearson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Pearson has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Mikesell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Fremont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Farmington only posted a batting average of .182.

Fremont pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Farmington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Fremont will head out to challenge Davis at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Silverwolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Darts have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Farmington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Weber at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
