Baseball Game Preview: Greely Rangers vs. Gray-New Gloucester Patriots

Greely is a perfect 10-0 against Gray-New Gloucester since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rangers will face off against the Patriots at 2:30 p.m. Gray-New Gloucester took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Greely, who comes in off a win.

Greely is headed out to face Gray-New Gloucester after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Rangers blew past Lake Region 13-3 on Thursday. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Greely got a massive performance out of Wyatt Soucie, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave Soucie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Kyles, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Gray-New Gloucester kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 6-1 to Fryeburg. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

Greely took their win against Gray-New Gloucester in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
