Softball Preview: Southern Wells Raiders vs. Norwell Knights
Southern Wells is 0-6 against Norwell since April of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 5:00 p.m.
While Southern Wells is heading in to the contest without a victory, things might be looking up considering their last game was the closest they've come to getting one. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Winchester Community. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered since April 6, 2024.
Alexis Pennington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
At the plate, Southern Wells saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Norwell made easy work of Angola on Friday and carried off a 12-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.
