Softball Game Preview: Randolph Rams vs. Montville Mustangs

The Randolph Rams will head out to square off against the Montville Mustangs on Saturday.

Randolph came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-0 to Columbia. The loss was the Rams' first of the season.

Randolph got a good showing from Kayleigh McClain, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Randolph saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniella Gizienski, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Montville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over West Milford on Thursday. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Having lost for the first time this season, Randolph fell to 3-1. As for Montville, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
