Basketball Recap: Clay-Battelle Skates Past Trinity Christian with Ease

Clay-Battelle hadn't done well against Trinity Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees claimed a resounding 65-26 victory over the Trinity Christian Warriors. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Cee-Bees this season.

It was another big night for Preston Luzader, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 22 boards. The matchup was his 11th in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Payton, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points.

Clay-Battelle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Trinity Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maddox Mousadis posted 12 points. Mousadis also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 67%.

Clay-Battelle is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Trinity Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
