Recap: Elsberry Indians vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds
The Elsberry Indians had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against North Callaway by a score of 49-40. That's another feather in the cap for Elsberry, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, North Callaway still got an impressive performance from Isiah Craighead, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Craighead has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Brown, who scored six points along with four steals.
Elsberry is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for North Callaway, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Wellsville-Middletown the next time they take the court. North Callaway will head out to face Wellsville-Middletown at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, while Elsberry will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
