Basketball Recap: Sickles Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sickles was the 57-39 winner over Wharton when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Gryphons took a blow against the Wildcats on Wednesday, falling 61-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Gryphons have suffered against the Wildcats since January 16, 2019.

Blake Bland was Sickles' leading scorer, having posted seven points. Sadie Jones held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Wharton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayla Grady, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Sydney Hurst, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Sickles' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wharton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sickles will head out to square off against Steinbrenner at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wharton, they will challenge Freedom at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
