Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Purvis). They put the hurt on the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats with a sharp 15-9 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Tornadoes sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Jacob Parker made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, JoJo Parker was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Paxton Cooper, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Purvis' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs. As for Presbyterian Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
