Baseball Game Preview: Bloomfield Cardinals vs. White River Valley Wolverines

The Bloomfield Cardinals will venture away from home to face off against the White River Valley Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bloomfield took on North Daviess on Wednesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-6. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Andrew Barker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Cameron Branstetter also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, White River Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-2 to Mitchell.

White River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Bloomfield, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Bloomfield took their win against White River Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
