Nikiski faced Grace Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won nine in a row.

Nikiski easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-17.

Blakeley Jorgensen paced Nikiski's offense, picking up six kills. Jorgensen got some help from Milly Hornung and her 17 assists. Mandee Roofe controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Nikiski's victory bumped their record up to 15-5-5. As for Grace Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

Nikiski has already played their next matchup (against Wasilla), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Grace Christian, after both having extra time off, they and Homer will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
