Volleyball Recap: San Marcos Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If San Marcos was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Escondido last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the La Jolla Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Thursday.

San Marcos wouldn't go down easily and took La Jolla into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 13-25, 15-10.

San Marcos' defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-12. As for La Jolla, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-22.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Vikings beat San Marcos by a score of 3-2 later that day.
