Creighton commit and MaxPreps Player of the Year candidate pumps in game-high 25 points.

In a rematch between nationally-ranked high school basketball powers Tuesday, No. 2 AZ Compass Prep (Chandler, Ariz.) improved to 2-0 this season over No. 15 Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.) with a 68-55 win in Phoenix. MaxPreps National Player of the Year candidate TyTy Washington led the way with 25 points, six rebounds and six assists.

AZ Compass Prep (20-1) held a narrow 50-48 lead with 2:46 remaining in the contest but closed on a 21-7 run. After the Dragons split a pair of free-throws, Prolific Prep (25-3) head coach Mark Phelps was hit with a technical foul — which ultimately ignited the late surge.

Washington was also a difference-maker in the first meeting between the two teams, a 75-56 AZ Compass Prep victory back on Nov. 6. In that contest, the Creighton-bound point guard tallied 29 points and eight rebounds.

Dayton signee DaRon Holmes added 19 points and 11 rebounds for AZ Compass Prep, which picked up its fourth win over a MaxPreps Top 25 opponent this season.

Oregon commit Nathan Bittle, a 6-foot-11 post player, led Prolific Prep with 17 points and seven rebounds.
