Baseball Game Preview: Carrollton Trojans vs. Lafayette County Huskers

Carrollton hasn't had much luck against Lafayette County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trojans will welcome the Huskers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Carrollton 3.2, Lafayette County 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Carrollton's offense. They fell just short of Holden by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Lafayette County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Panthers. The Huskers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Lafayette County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Carrollton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
