Preview: Williamston Hornets vs. Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish
Williamston has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Williamston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Notre Dame Prep is ranked sixth).
Last Friday, Williamston came up short against Goodrich and fell 26-15.
Noah Dunckel put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for three yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Edison Academy, posting a 51-0 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Notre Dame Prep, who have now won seven matches by 35 points or more so far this season.
Williamston's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Notre Dame Prep, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0.
Williamston took their win against Notre Dame Prep when the teams last played back in November of 2017 by a conclusive 47-21. Does Williamston have another victory up their sleeve, or will Notre Dame Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
