Soccer Game Preview: Santa Barbara vs. San Marcos

The Santa Barbara Dons will head out to face off against the San Marcos Royals at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Barbara's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If San Marcos heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Santa Barbara took over last week. Santa Barbara came out on top in a nail-biter against Rio Mesa on Friday, sneaking past 2-1.

Meanwhile, San Marcos hasn't lost a match since January 17th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They blew past Buena 5-1. Jose Ramirez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

San Marcos is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Santa Barbara, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-16-2.

Santa Barbara came up short against San Marcos when the teams last played back in January, falling 2-0. Can Santa Barbara avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
