Basketball Game Preview: East Prairie Eagles vs. Malden Green Wave

The East Prairie Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Malden Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in East Prairie's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

It was a Battle of the Birds when East Prairie faced off against Kelly on Friday. East Prairie blew past Kelly 86-60. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Malden took a blow against Bernie on Friday, falling 85-42. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 503rd, while the Mules are ranked 133rd).

East Prairie is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.2 points over those games. As for Malden, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road.

East Prairie came up short against Malden in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 60-49. Can East Prairie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
