Basketball Recap: Humble Christian Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Humble Christian can now relate to. They were dealt an 86-55 loss at the hands of the Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors on Thursday. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Annapolis Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Gwaltney, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Gwaltney's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Riojas, who went 5-for-10 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Humble Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Humble Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Calvary Chapel Christian Academy at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Calvary Chapel Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Humble Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, they will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against School of the Woods at 11:30 a.m. Annapolis Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
