Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short

St. Joseph lost against Portage Central back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Joseph Bears took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Portage Central Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 468th, while the Mustangs are ranked 205th).

St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Portage Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will head out to face off against Norrix at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norrix has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Portage Central, they will venture away from home to take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portage Central is facing Central at the right time seeing as Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
