Basketball Recap: Lincoln Prep's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

On Friday, the Lincoln Prep Lightning were able to grind out a solid win over the St. Augustine Catholic Wolves, taking the game 47-39.

When it comes to explaining why St. Augustine Catholic lost, don't look at Jovanni Fernandez. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 15 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. Fernandez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carlos Acuna, who posted 15 points.

Lincoln Prep's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
