Basketball Game Preview: Crescent City Raiders vs. Tavares Bulldogs

The Crescent City Raiders will square off against the Tavares Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Crescent City was beaten by Tocoi Creek 72-32. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 659th, while the Toros are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, Tavares entered their tilt with Umatilla on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bulldogs 71-45. Tavares has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Tavares' win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Crescent City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Crescent City was dealt a bruising 63-34 defeat at the hands of Tavares in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tavares' KEVIN DANIELS, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points and five assists.
