Basketball Game Preview: Giltner Hornets vs. Blue Hill Bobcats

The Giltner Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Blue Hill Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Giltner hasn't scored more than 29 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Giltner is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Heartland on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Giltner took a blow against Heartland, falling 72-28. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.

Meanwhile, Blue Hill didn't have too much trouble with Arapahoe on Saturday as they won 55-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Blue Hill pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Giltner, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything went Giltner's way against Blue Hill when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as Giltner made off with a 48-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Giltner since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
