Softball Recap: Putnam Takes a Loss

Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 14-2 to the Norwich RVT Warriors. If the Clippers were looking for revenge after losing 24-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Avery Meyette was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Norwich RVT, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Putnam will take on Griswold at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norwich RVT, they will head out on the road to challenge Vinal RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.53 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
