Baseball Recap: Newton Falls Comes Up Short

The Newton Falls Tigers didn't have quite enough to beat the Community Vikings/Viqueens on Saturday and fell 9-8.

Leland Vargo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Michael Bennett, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Newton Falls' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Community, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Newton Falls will host Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Newton Falls' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Community has already played their next contest (against Cannon County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
