In what's become a running theme this season, Grapeland gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past the Normangee Panthers 14-4. Winning may never get old, but Grapeland sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Gabe Deleon and Edy Lopez did most of the damage at the plate: Deleon scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Lopez scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

On Normangee's side, Dallas Jones led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hunter Garner, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Normangee was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grapeland only hit no.

Grapeland pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs per game. As for Normangee, they now have a losing record at 8-9-1.

Grapeland will be playing in front of their home fans against Leon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leon knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Grapeland likes a good challenge. As for Normangee, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on April 2nd.
