Recap: Evansville Memorial Tigers vs. Princeton Tigers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Evansville Harrison, the Evansville Memorial Tigers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They skirted past Princeton 51-48. For Evansville Memorial, this counts as revenge for the 67-56 defeat Princeton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Tucker Tornatta, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylen Kendrick, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Evansville Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Princeton, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evansville Memorial won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Boonville at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th. Boonville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Evansville Memorial is ranked 48th). As for Princeton, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Posey at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. North Posey will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
