Preview: Live Oak vs. Gridley

Gridley are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Live Oak on Friday at Harvest Bowl at 7:30 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Gridley, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. Everything went their way against Central Valley last week as the squad secured a 50-0 win. No one put up better numbers for Gridley than senior Riley Dunning, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 100 yards on the ground and accumulated 101 passing yards.

Meanwhile, Live Oak ran circles around Hamilton, and the extra yardage (399 yards vs. 145 yards) paid off. Live Oak were fully in charge, breezing past Hamilton 42-0. Live Oak were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Their wins bumped Live Oak to 1-2 and Gridley to 1-1. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Live Oak and Gridley will really light up the scoreboard.
