Football Recap: Hill School Rams vs. Peddie Falcons
Hill School's last matchup with Peddie could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Saturday. The Rams came up short against the Falcons, falling 40-20. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Peddie had a senior duo take command as Joey Gaston rushed for 182 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries and Jeremiah Davis rushed for 130 yards and two scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Gaston really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Griffin Brennan got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Hill School now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Peddie, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
Hill School and Peddie could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings. The Rams (ranked 272nd) will meet St. Luke's (ranked 107th) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Peddie will square off against Pennington at 2:00 p.m. on the 25th with a big rank disadvantage (203 vs. 44).
