Basketball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial had lost nine straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-18 to make it ten. They were outmatched by the Cross County Cougars and fell 60-29. Having soared to a lofty 68 points in the game before, the Broncos couldn't push the score so high this time.

Centennial's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kade McFadden, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Owen Naber, who posted eight points.

As for Cross County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Sawyer Anderson was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-15 on his way to 20 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Benji Cooper, who put up 12 points.

Centennial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-35 loss against Malcolm on the 14th. As for Cross County, they will face off against Exeter-Milligan/Friend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
