Soccer Game Preview: Orange vs. Seaforth

The Orange Panthers will square off against the Seaforth Hawks at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Orange took a loss when they played away from home back in March, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Cedar Ridge an 8-0 shutout. That eight goal margin sets a new team best for Orange this season.

Meanwhile, Seaforth entered their tilt with Bartlett Yancey on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Buccaneers 15-0. Seaforth's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Their offense was hitting Bartlett Yancey from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Sofia Viana led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for seven goals all by herself.

Seaforth pushed their record up to 7-2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 59 goals over those five matches. As for Orange, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-5.
