Soccer Recap: Doherty Comes Up Short

Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Pine Creek Eagles, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Doherty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Pine Creek are ranked 12th).

Doherty's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pine Creek, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Doherty will face off against Douglas County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine Creek, they will square off against Denver East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Creek's defense better be ready for this one: Denver East have averaged an impressive 5.3 goals per game this season.
