St. John Paul II Academy hasn't had much luck against Saint Andrew recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The St. John Paul II Academy Eagles will be playing at home against the Saint Andrew's Scots at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. John Paul II Academy comes in on three and Saint Andrew's on four.
Last Wednesday, St. John Paul II Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Cardinal Newman, but they still walked away with a 74-69 win.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John Paul II Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dior Johnson, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 25 points. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in blocks (two). Ian Astiazarain was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 18 points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Saint Andrew's against Pine Crest on Wednesday as the team secured a 98-68 victory. The Scots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 27 points or more this season.
Saint Andrew's win came from a few key players St. John Paul II Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brendan Gerard, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Montes, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.
Saint Andrew's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for St. John Paul II Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. St. John Paul II Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.2 points per game. However, it's not like Saint Andrew's struggles in that department as they've been averaging 82.7 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
St. John Paul II Academy came up short against Saint Andrew's in their previous matchup back in February, falling 78-68. Thankfully for St. John Paul II Academy, Brooklyn Vick (who went 9 of 15 on his way to 37 points along with seven boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
