Soccer Game Preview: Fillmore vs. Liberty

The Fillmore Flashes will be taking part in a tournament against the Liberty Patriots at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Fillmore's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Fillmore didn't have quite enough to beat Santa Paula and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Liberty put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Golden Valley a 2-0 shutout. The Patriots' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Julian Struzyna and Cesar Marquez scored both of Liberty's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Fillmore, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-2-1.
