Baseball Recap: Patton Has No Trouble Against Hendersonville

Patton hadn't done well against Hendersonville recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Bearcats 11-3. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 6-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cohen Christian made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Aaron Duncan was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laine Barrier, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Patton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hendersonville only managed ten hits.

Patton's record is now 10-12. As for Hendersonville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.

Patton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
