The Grant Tigers will challenge the Newaygo Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Grant came out on top against Fremont on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Packers with a sharp 10-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Logyn Hansen
| 05/16/26 @ Fremont | 9 |
| 05/14/26 @ Central Montcalm | 11 |
| 05/12/26 vs Big Rapids | 12 |
| 05/07/26 @ Lakeview | 10 |
Logyn Hansen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 contests.
Hansen wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chloe McGowan, who went 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Maylee Bonney was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Grant lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Newaygo got the win against Whitehall on Thursday by a conclusive 11-1. The Lions have beaten the Vikings the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.
Alyssa Echtinaw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.
On the hitting side, Gabby Arney and Chloe Clark did most of the damage at the plate: Arney went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Clark got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Lathrop, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Newaygo's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Grant, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Grant has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Newaygo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Grant got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Newaygo by a conclusive 17-8 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
