Volleyball Recap: Selma Takes a Loss

Selma lost against Sanger West back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bears took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Sanger West to victory were Payton Phimmachack and Maddilynn Villarreal Puga. Phimmachack had six aces and four digs, while Villarreal Puga had nine assists. Those six aces gave Phimmachack a new career-high.

Selma's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Sanger West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Selma didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Coalinga on the 6th. As for Sanger West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Shafter on the 6th.
