Baseball Recap: Coleville Wolves vs. Wells Leopards

Coleville had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it six. They lost 15-0 to the Wells Leopards. The shutout was out of character for the Wolves seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

As for Wells, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3. Considering they have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Wells' part, Miguel Martinez and Cesar Beruman did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Beruman went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Martinez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Uhlig, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Coleville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Smith Valley at 3:00 p.m. on the 29th.
