Baseball Game Preview: Jeffersonville Red Devils vs. Columbus East Olympians

The Jeffersonville Red Devils will challenge the Columbus East Olympians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jeffersonville will be strutting in after a victory while Columbus East will be coming in after a defeat.

Jeffersonville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Oldham County by a score of 8-4 on Saturday.

Carter Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Braylen Gray and Aidan Toler did most of the damage at the plate: Gray scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Toler scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Jeffersonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oldham County only posted a batting average of .125.

Meanwhile, Columbus East fell victim to Floyd Central and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders. The game marked the first time this year in which the Olympians were not able to get on the board.

Columbus East saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aj Tindell, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Tindell's first of the season.

Columbus East's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Jeffersonville, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
