Basketball Game Preview: Riceville Wildcats vs. Clarksville Indians

Riceville has gone 9-1 against Clarksville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Riceville Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Clarksville Indians at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Clarksville will be up against a hot Riceville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to 14. Riceville blew past Tripoli, posting a 53-8 win. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Panthers are ranked 303rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clarksville entered their tilt with Don Bosco on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 61-38 victory.

Riceville's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points per game. As for Clarksville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Riceville took their win against Clarksville in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 52-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riceville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
