Volleyball Recap: Tipton Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Tipton and Russellville, and Russellville kept the tradition alive. The Cardinals came up short against the Indians on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Tipton ultimately came up short, they really made Russellville work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 26-24.

Russellville can attribute much of their success to Paige Calvird, who had 16 digs. That's the most digs Calvird has posted over her last nine matchups.

Tipton's loss dropped their record down to 19-10-4. As for Russellville, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season.

Tipton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Russellville, they will take on Fatima at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
