Basketball Recap: Bokoshe Takes a Loss

Bokoshe saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a blow against the Talihina Golden Tigers, falling 70-40. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Golden Tigers are ranked 141st).

Leading Talihina to victory were Cy Ammons and Landen Griffith. Ammons went 5 for 9 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds, while Griffith went 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and five assists. That's the most assists Griffith has posted since back in December of 2023. Eric Rose was another key player, putting up eight points.

Bokoshe dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Talihina, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bokoshe Tigers duke it out with the Braggs Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Talihina, they will host Hartshorne at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
