Basketball Recap: East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers vs. CHAAMP HomeSchool Hawks
East Texas Homeschool Sports was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 73-70 heartbreaker at the hands of the CHAAMP HomeSchool Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 57-55 loss last Friday.
CHAAMP HomeSchool had a senior duo take command as David Harrison dropped a double-double with 16 points and 19 boards and Joe Hefner went 7 of 11 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hefner has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Hampton, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.
East Texas Homeschool Sports' defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-7.
East Texas Homeschool Sports does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hooks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hooks knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully CHAAMP HomeSchool likes a good challenge.
