Basketball Recap: Pleasanton Takes a Loss

Pleasanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 44-34 to the Carrizo Springs Wildcats. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Carrizo Springs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Melanie Davila out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Davila a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Rangel, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points.

Pleasanton's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Carrizo Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasanton and Marion will compete for holiday cheer at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Carrizo Springs will take on Devine in a holiday battle at at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
