Football Recap: Whitney Young's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, Whitney Young finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost to the Morgan Park Mustangs at home by a 28-12 margin. If the Dolphins were looking for revenge after losing 34-7 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Although Whitney Young took the loss, they still got scores from Maxwell Warner and Bennett Duross.

Morgan Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reggie Gray Jr, who rushed for 141 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Gray Jr showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 68 yards. Another pass catcher making a difference was Nasir Rankin, who gained 94 total yards and a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Whitney Young fell to 3-1. As for Morgan Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Whitney Young has already played their next matchup, a 24-6 victory against Lincoln Park on the 26th. As for Morgan Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 30-0 win against Phillips on the 27th.
