Santa Fe put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Oxford Academy Patriots. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Patriots are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gael Sandoval was the driving force of Santa Fe's attack as he scored both of Santa Fe's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Santa Fe's win bumped their record up to 4-0-3. As for Oxford Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

Santa Fe will take on La Habra at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Habra will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Santa Fe surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oxford Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Glenn at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oxford Academy's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
