Red Mountain came tearing into Thursday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Dobson Mustangs as they made off with an 11-0 win. Considering the Mountain Lions have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jimmy McCarthy looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Derek Wilson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since March 5th. Caden Royer also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Red Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Red Mountain pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Dobson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Mountain will face off against Queen Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dobson, they will challenge Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
