Baseball Recap: Morristown Comes Up Short

Triton Central hit Morristown with a nine-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellow Jackets lost 14-2 to the Tigers. The Yellow Jackets were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Morristown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Triton Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Morristown will host Anderson Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.92 runs per game on average), something the Yellow Jackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Triton Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Indianapolis Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
