Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Webber Tigers

Notre Dame has gone 8-2 against Webber recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish will welcome the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Notre Dame has three straight wins, Webber has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Notre Dame's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Alexander 7-0. The Fighting Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Finn Davies, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Alexander off the board. Davies has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Beachel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Liam Berger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Notre Dame hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
